Degree Requirements

Social Science Requirements

Students in the College of Social Science who are candidates for a bachelor of arts degree must complete at least 15 credits in course work in the social sciences. Students who are candidates for a bachelor of science degree must complete at least nine credits in course work in the social sciences. Courses used to satisfy this requirement may be taken from the following departments/units. Courses in anthropology and geography listed in the College Requirement for Course Work in Natural Science section may not be applied toward the college’s social science requirement. NOTE: IDS students may not select courses from the discipline that they use as the disciplinary cognate in the major.
