University Required Courses
The Tier II Writing requirement for IDS students may be fulfilled in two ways. Some departments offer designated writing courses (courses formally approved and designated as "W" courses) for our majors. Other departments offer several courses for our majors that include some writing content, but which are not formally designated as writing courses. IDS students may fulfill their Tier II writing requirement by taking one designated writing course (W model) or by taking a cluster of two courses that contain some writing content (C-cluster model).
