Residential Living

Students who select the Environmental Policy concentration prior to or during their first (i.e., freshman) year at MSU are encouraged to contact an IDS advisor to discuss possible participation in the Residential Initiative on the Study of the Environment (RISE). RISE is a living-learning experience in which students with interests in environmental studies live together, take several classes in common, and participate in a variety of environmentally related extra-curricular activities. Contact Dr. Laurie Thorp, RISE Coordinator at G-47 Hubbard Hall North, 432-4944, email: thorp1@msu.edu for detailed information about this specialization. (For additional opportunities related to environmental studies, see the related item under Thematic Specializations.) Web address: www.ns.msu.edu/rise.
