Supplementary Opportunities
Student Organizations
IDS students have the opportunity to join a variety of student organizations that can introduce them to fellow students who share similar interests, help to prepare them for the transition to their careers or to graduate school, and provide contacts with alumni and others who are already well established in their careers.
Among these organizations are: the Human Resource Association (HRA) http://www.bus.msu.edu/clubs/hra ( msuhra@hotmail.com ) which offers programs and activities that provide many opportunities for professional growth and development;
the MSU Pre-Professional Society for Health Careers http://www.msu.edu/~preproff/ which invites all students interested in pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, podiatry, physical therapy, physician assistant, and medical technology to participate in a wide variety of activities and support services, including tours of professional schools, guest speakers and community service projects;
the American Medical Student Association http://www.msu.edu/~amsa which educates undergraduates on all that the medical field offers; ECO http://msu.edu/~eco which works to address environmental issues and concerns on campus and in the broader community;
the International Students Association http://www.msu.edu/~menonvik which works to represent and support the global community on campus;
and The MSU Pre-Law Society, which offers programs concerning preparation for the LSAT and law school, hosts a number of speakers each year, including prominent attorneys and judges, and sponsors a moot court. Information about these organizations and others may be obtained from an IDS advisor or from the Office of Student Organizations , 101 Student Services Building (355-8286).
